Maintain Label Printer Formats - SET 37

This option provides a user with the ability to designate iSeries system printers for printing either 8 MM or 12 MM bar coded labels.

8MM is the standard.

The bar coded labels affected by this functionality are:

  • UCC-128 bar code labels.
  • Shipping Label.
  • Serial Number Label.
  • UPC Label.
  • LPN Label.
  • Putaway Label.
  • Roll/Cut Order Line Label.
  • LPN / Order Line Manifest Label

These labels are printed using menu option WAR 9 - Print Warehouse Labels.

Only AS400 system configured printers can be accessed via this setting. This means some networked printers may not be supported.

  1. On the System Settings menu, select option 37 - Maintain Label Printer Formats. A listing of all your AS400 system printers appears.
  2. Select one by entering a U in its Opt column.
  3. The only field that can be updated is the Label Format field. Enter either 08 (mm) or 12 (mm).

  • Page 9 - Miscellaneous Settings of the Warehouse Settings File (WM2 1) contains the setting Does this Warehouse use a 12MM Zebra barcode printer that configures every printer in a warehouse to a 12MM Zebra Printer.
  • The settings made in SET 37 allow you to override the global setting made through the IWMS warehouse settings for individual printers.
